Lions, We Serve

Being a Lion …

Membership in a Lions Club is a privilege that also carries obligations.

Lions Clubs International is not a fraternal, social or political organization.

Lions are a group of people banded together to do things that

individuals alone cannot, a medium through which those of good will

can serve other human beings.

Our humanitarian work in our community, state, country and worldwide

would not be possible without the time and effort of our members.

Lionism is a cooperative effort in which every member is expected

to respond when asked to share the load willingly so that the

load of less fortunate people will not be so heavy.

The rewards of Lion membership are great. Fellowship. Association.

Thanks from those we serve. Personal satisfaction. Community recognition.

Being a Lion means that you have an obligation to your Lions Club to:

  •   Give of your time and talent

  •   Make Lions one of your priorities: attend meetings, participate
in club projects, perform committee assignments

  •   Promote the well-being of your Club

  •   Make your voice heard with mutual respect for other members

  •   Develop an understanding of Lionism—constitution, by-laws,
organization, customs, rules and practices of your Lions Club,
      District, State and International
